She had hurt herself by cutting her hand. She had the bipolar eating disorder. But now, she recover and share those pain experience to all of us. She want to set up a role model for us in order to tell us that we can overcome the difficulties. She want to encourage those frustrated and desperate people by music. Lyrics:
Here is the original version of the song'証' by flumpool:
Chinese translation
This time, i won't share much about my feeling or my opinions. I know that people have recently transform themselves into deadline fighters. Maybe you need to prepare for the next presentation, assignment, term paper and even the final examination. You must feel frustrated when facing these stuff. So here i would like to share a video, which can help you to transfer pain into pressure.
As Paul Bloom quoted the poem from John Milton: The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a hell of Heaven. If we change our mind, deadline and workload from studying are not big deal.
Today I would like to share some bilingual
stuff with you guys through talking about one of my favorite singers, Nishiono
Kana(西野カナ). I will try to apply some bilingual concepts in my analysis, or
said my sharing and discovery from watching the video. Nishiono Kana(西野カナ) is a famous singer in Japan and also in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Let
me share some video and some songs of her for you.
As you see, Nishino Kana sang in Japanese
and Chinese subtitles are provided. She also code-switched to Chinese and sang
a Chinese song in order to show that she really respects Taiwan’s culture. If
you pay attention to the title of the video, you will find that mix-code is
used. I don’t know why code-mixing is used here, but I have made a guess of it.
Maybe the code-mixing title is for convenience for searching. When I type ‘西野加奈 taiwan’ to search, my result is as following:
When I type ‘西野加奈台灣’ to
search, my result is as following:
Whatever I type ‘西野加奈 taiwan’ or ‘西野加奈台灣’, I can still find
the two video I show at the beginning of this article (blue boxes). But I find
an interesting thing is that I got a reminder of ‘Are you searching: 西野加奈台灣’ when I search video by typing ‘西野加奈 taiwan’.
I think it means that the English word ‘Taiwan’ is linked to the Chinese word ‘
The Chinese subtitles of this Japanese song
are one kind of commodified bilingualism, which means bilingualism is used for business
purpose or earning money, as the subtitles is made for commercial purpose. It takes
target readers as consumers. But the bilingual feature of the following video
is totally different from this video. Let’s watch the video first.
The title of this video also involves language
mixing, but the difference is that the Chinese subtitles in the video are for
the fans of Nishino Kana in Hong Kong to have a better understanding of this
song. This is societal bilingualism, which means bilingualism is used for a
particular group of audience. It takes target readers as citizens, or maybe
friends to share this wonderful song.
Actually the above analysis is really a simple
one. But I hope this can bring you some concepts of bilingualism and introduce
Nishino Kana to you. :D Hope you enjoy my sharing. See you next time.
P.S Nishino Kana is the romanisation of西野カナ. Also, maybe the Chinese translation of some bilingual concepts is not
accurate, but I have tried my best to translate them. If you have a better
translation of them, please leave a comment to tell me :D
Do you guys still remember i have shared a video called 'dumb ways to die'? It doesn't matter if u have already forgotten it. This is because i would show you the video again XD
Here we go!
This is the video with both English and Chinese subtitles. The following one is the one with Deutsche Untertitel (German subtitles).
Isn't that the character in this video very cute? But do you know what is the message which the producers want to spread through this video? If you don't know, please watch the following video. You would have a better understanding of this adorable video.
I agree to these teenagers that the song is really catchy and impressive >U< (To be honest, i always sing this song after i have watch this video.) I am sorry that I cannot find a video of Teen react to Dumb Ways to Die with Chinese subtitles and I don't know how to make subtitles to the video.(But the most important reason is that I cannot catch all the native speakers' sentence :( Please forgive me XD)
Teens React to Dumb Ways to Die
'Be safe around train, a message from METRO' This sentence comes out at the end of the video. Actually, it really surprises me. I think it is just a video made for fun and entertainment. In fact, it is an advertisement, or PSA- Public Service Announcement.
This video get more and more popular since it has post on Youtube. It is really interesting that the song is so popular that people have done the ukulele or guitar cover of it. You could try playing this song if you are interested in this. Here are the video for tutorial of playing this song with ukulele and guitar.
METRO also produce a game based on this video and it is well-known in Taiwan.
I have fun with this song and i think listen to this song can help me to relieve pressure. I recommend you to listen to this song if you are frustrated and desperate.
Have you heard of Hatsune Miku? She is a famous singer in Japan. Maybe i should say: she is the vocaloid(虛擬偶像) in Japan.. :D
A) Yes, I have heard of Hatsune Miku. -> Q1
B) No, I have not heard of Hatsune Miku. -> please watch the video below -> Q1
Q1) Do you still remember what is your reaction when you first meet with Hatsune Miku's work?
I am not the fan of her. Actually Hatsune Miku's voice is quite beautiful but it is not the type of voice I like. I just listen for one of her songs and never listen to her song again. Although i am not really obsessed with her songs, I love her appearance and her long hair. :D
Are you be interested in knowing the elderly and kids' reaction to her? I have got some video from youtube about this. \ (> A <) /
Kids' react:
Elders' react:
Technology is really amazing. People use it to create vocaloids and even hold a concert of her. We can see that the action of the vocaloids on the stage is really smooth and vivid. They really sang like a real singers on the stage with dancing. Human's creativity is really powerful. Isn't it?
Demi wrote this song for hereslf. She said it
is a personal song. She miss her friend who was died when Demi was 13 years
old. Sometime Demi think she can still feel this friend and this friend like
the nightingale (or guardian angel) for her.
Please watch the video from 1:14 to 1:35
Things happened are always irreversible. What we can do is treasuring
people and things around us, especially our life. Don’t commit to suicide even
though you feel frustrate and desperate. When you feel stressed or hopeless, please
watch this video. Listen to the song :D
My best friend shared this
video to me. Isn’t the characters in the video very cute?
‘Ricky Wong Wai-kay(王維基) was
extraordinarily low-key yesterday after commerce secretary Gregory So Kam-leung
pronounced the death sentence on his application for a free-to-air TV license.’
(The Standard)
Do you know who is Wong Wai-kay? Are you disappointed with the
government’s decision on not giving the free-on-air TV license to HKTV(香港電視)? Or don’t really care about this
news? I believe you must hear the name ‘Wong Wai-kay’ in these days. Maybe you have no feeling on
this issue, but I would like to share some information and my feeling on this
hot issue in HK.
If you flipped over today’s newspaper, I believe
you must bump into the hot topic about the free-on-air TV license. To be honest,
I am quite disappointed about the HKSAR government’s decision on not giving the
free-on-air TV license to HKTV. Most of us know, HKTV has prepared for the
operation of the free-on-air HKTV for almost 3 years, but all preparation the
HKTV staff made in vain. They don’t have the license now, or maybe forever.
Actually I was looking forward for the TV programs made by HKTV since he applied
for the license. The government’s decision disappointed many HongKongers.
I really
want to know why the government give the license to i-Cable's Fantastic Television(奇妙電視) and
now’s Hong Kong
Television Entertainment Company Limited(香港電視娛樂). The Standard reported: ‘Greg So Kam-leung(蘇錦良), Secretary for
Commerce and Economic Development, said the application by City Telecom-owned
HKTV was dismissed after the Chief Executive-in-Council had considered a basket
of factors and accepted a consultancy report that the market could not
accommodate five TV stations.’ What is the so-called ‘a basket of
factors’? This is what all Hong Kong people, and mostly the HKTV staff, want to
know.
The
government’s decision on not giving the free-on-air TV license to HKTV raises public
anger. People think it is unfair of the government to reject the application of HKTV for the license. The government must tell the detail of’ a basket of factors’. Maybe this can relieve public
anger if the explanation is strongly persuasive.
Hi, I am Hedy :P Today I would like to
share one of my favorite songs for you. Here is it, ‘skyscraper’.
I love Demi lovato’s song ‘skyscraper’. To
be honest, I don’t know this song is about bullying until I saw a video from the
X Factor, a TV programme in USA.
‘You can feel the pain.’ said Demi lovato.
Yes, I can feel the pain of the girl who was being bullied. She was so brave to
stand on the stage. She shared her pain with all the audience. All audience,
and even the judges, burst into tears.
Have you been isolated by your friends with
no reason?
May be I should ask: Have you bullied
somebody in your life?
I don’t know whether you have the same
feeling with me, but I really want to share this feeling to you guys. Bullying
may ruin a people’s life if they are not strong enough. Please stop that :D
‘If you were bullying someone, I would say
to put yourself in the victim’s shoe.’ - Demi lovato.
Demi lovato Here is the lyrics of 'skyscraper' of both English and Chinese version. It is from oldlady's blog.
Skies are crying 天空正在哭泣 I am watching 我望著 Catching teardrops in my hands Only silence, as it's ending, like we never had a chance Do you have to, make me feel like there is nothing left of me?
You can take everything I have 你可以拿走我的所有 You can break everything I am Like I'm made of glass Like I'm made of paper Go on and try to tear me down 繼續試著來打敗我 I will be rising from the ground 但我會聳立於地 Like a skyscraper! 如同一座摩天大樓 Like a skyscraper!
As the smoke clears I awaken, and untangle you from me Would it make you, feel better to watch me while I bleed? All my windows, still are broken But I'm standing on my feet 但我又站起來了http://oldladybox.pixnet.net/ You can take everything I have 你可以拿走我的所有 You can break everything I am Like I'm made of glass Like I'm made of paper Go on and try to tear me down 繼續試著來打敗我 I will be rising from the ground 但我會聳立於地 Like a skyscraper! 如同一座摩天大樓 Like a skyscraper!
Go run, run, run 跑吧!跑! I'm gonna stay right here 我要留在這兒 Watch you disappear, yeah 看著你消失,是啊 Go run, run, run 跑吧!跑! Yeah it's a long way down 是離下面很遠 But I am closer to the clouds up here 但我現在卻更接近雲端了http://oldladybox.pixnet.net/
I have recently studied Japanese on my own.
I found that some of the Chinese characters of Japanese are similar to some
vocabulary in Cantonese, but actually they have different meaning in Japanese
and Cantonese. I am interested in these Chinese characters of Japanese and I
would like to share some of them with you guys :D
Actually, the word ‘寫真’ in Chinese is come from the word ‘写真’ in Japanese.
Nowadays, we use ‘寫真’ to represent photos. It (寫真) has the same meaning to ‘相片’ in Chinese. Isn’t
funny? Maybe next time I can share more if I find other words similar to that.
:D
